GCPD Annual Report – 2022

In accordance with its authorizing legislation, Senate Bill (SB) 1160 (87th regular legislative session), the
Gulf Coast Protection District (GCPD) shall annually submit a report to the Texas Legislature, the
Legislative Budget Board, the Texas General Land Office (GLO), and the commissioners courts of
Chambers, Galveston, Harris, Jefferson, and Orange counties. The report must:

  1. describe the District’s financial condition and operations during the preceding year;
  2. propose a budget for the following year; and
  3. describe generally the work proposed for the following year.

Included herein is the GCPD’s annual report covering the period from August 2021 (the District’s creation)
through December 31, 2022. Questions related to this report should be directed to Nicole Sunstrum,
