Stakeholder Advisory Committees

Home | Stakeholder Engagement | Stakeholder Advisory Committees

Stakeholder Advisory Committees provide a structured format for local stakeholder input, separate and apart from required government processes. GCPD created these committees to provide (1) ample notice to specific stakeholder groups of project progress throughout design activities and (2) opportunities for stakeholder input congruent with the decision-making process within the design activities.

Formal public meetings and other opportunities to provide public input by law on the Coastal Texas Project are organized by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USAE) with support from the GCPD and the Texas General Land Office (GLO).

Environmental

In addition to the two GCPD Board Members who serve as Chair and Vice-Chair on the committee, there are nine committee members who represent external organizations that have a vested interest in how Coastal Texas Project design may impact local environmental resources.

Participation in the committee is extended by invitation at GCPD’s discretion and not open to the public. Formal public meetings and other opportunities to provide public input by law on the Coastal Texas Project are organized by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USAE) with support from GCPD and the Texas General Land Office (GLO).

Established in May 2026, this committee meets periodically to hear design updates for the Coastal Texas Project and to provide our project teams with direct feedback during this critical stage of project engineering design.
